Program Activities

This is a chance to explore the Indian shops of Parramatta and Harris Park before our Indian dinner.  We are planning to meet at Parramatta Station at 5pm and then walk to the nearby suburb of Harris Park where we will explore Little India with a plan for Indian dinner at one of the restaurants at 6.30pm followed by dessert afterwards.

An urban walk along the leafy paths of Cooks River. We will meet at Wolli Creek Station and walk to the start of the Cooks River path. Then along the river to Canterbury Road and completing a circuit on the other side of the river. There will then be an option to have lunch at the end of the walk at Wolli Creek. This is a repeat of last year's walk so everyone has a chance to do Part 1 before a potential Part 2 continuation in following weeks.

Enjoy a circuit walk exploring a variety of North Head highlights including the Quarantine Station, North Fort and lookouts. We will take time to learn about the history of the area.

Come along to this small intimate causal Japanese restaurant for some yummy Japanese food. They do terrific Bento Boxes for dinner for around $30, featuring contents like tempura, sashimi, miso, rice, salad, teriyaki salmon/beef/chicken - and you choose black or white rice. They also have a range of entrees including: gyozas, spring rolls, karage chicken and prawn parcels. It’s also BYO! We will meet there at 6.30pm, it’s less than 5 minutes walk from Kings Cross Train Station and almost on the corner of Darlinghurst Road and Macleay Street, opposite the Kings Cross Fountain. Dessert will be a few steps down the road at Riverina Gelato!

The Annual General Meeting has been scheduled for Saturday 24th May 2025 commencing at 11.30am at the Firehouse Hotel, Walker St North Sydney. The AGM Notice to Members was circulated by email on 16 April. All Members are welcome to attend - please register with Denise Kruse by no later than 16 May.

Join Ed and Denise on this classic bushwalk through Ku-ring-gai National Park. We will be walking the Sphinx Track down to Bobbin Head following Cowan Creek on a well-marked bush track. After lunch you have a choice as to how you return. Ed will return via Cockle Creek which makes the walk a Grade 3 as there will be some rock hopping. Denise will be return via Bobbin Head Track which makes the walk a Grade 2 as it is on a well-marked fire trail. The pace will be relaxed. 

Based on the 1890s story by Oscar Wilde that follows a hilariously misguided quest to commit the perfect crime. Cost: Adults $35.65. Concession (Pensioners & Seniors Card Holders) $30.65. Please send payment to me no later than Thursday 15th May. The Genesian Theatre is in St. Joseph's Church Hall at 2B Gordon Street, Rozelle, around the corner from Victoria Road. It is well-served by buses along Victoria Road from either the city or the west. Parking would be a problem in that area. The play commences at 7:30 pm. For Members and partners only.

Join me on this long weekend with a morning bike ride around Olympic Park passing along mangroves, aerial golf course and a prison. It would be a good opportunity for those who haven't ridden for a while as the pace will be relaxed and there are minimal road crossings. We will start at West Concord Station and no doubt have lunch at West Concord Hotel. You will need your own bike.

Join Ed and Denise on this loop walk from Bundeena to Marley Beach via Jibbon Head. The walk is on well marked tracks with great coastal views and maybe sighting some aboriginal rock carvings.  Some of the walk is on raised boards but it will be worth it. The pace will be relaxed.

Join Lynn and Denise at this social event listening and dancing to the greatest Abba hits. The show comprises of singers and musicians recreating the music of Abba at Norths Leagues Club, Cammeray.  The show starts at 8pm with optional dinner beforehand (dinner is extra cost to the show).  The Club is easy to get to - you can either drive (there is a carpark at the Club) or catch a bus. Cost of the show $41pp payable when booking with Denise. This is a Member Only Event. PLEASE NOTE:  Once you have paid the ticket is non-refundable.

There is an iconic 80km coastal walk which is known as Bondi to Manly. Peter is planning to walk the length of the walk and we are invited to join him. You can join him on all stages or one. Stage 1 is Bondi to Rose Bay via Watsons Bay some of which is already familiar to us. We will be following the Federation Cliff Walk which is the track between Bondi and Watsons Bay. Then after reaching Watsons Bay we will continue to Rose Bay via Nielsen Park and Parsley Bay. You can drop out along the way.  The pace will be moderate.
