    THIS WALK IS NOW FULL

    Oatley Park (dedicated to recreation way back in 1887) is 45 hectares bounded by water and is the largest and most intact parcel remnant bushland in the St George Basin. The walking track winds around Kiln Bay, through the wetlands and then to the edge of Oatley Park and the Oatley Baths.  This is an interesting parkland with lots to see and explore.

    Windsor Day Trip

    By 1794 the first 22 European settlers had arrived on the banks of the Hawkesbury River and South Creek. The following years many more families came and the settlement of Windsor (then called Green Hills) was established.

    This historic walk traces the steps of those first settlers taking in 17 places of interest around the Village. Lunch will be at the Macquarie Arms Hotel (founded in 1815) offering bistro fare and a shaded beer garden.

    A nice suburban circuit, mostly within bushland reserves, some of which the leader has only just discovered! From Carlingford we follow Hunts Creek through the Hunts Creek Nature Reserve, through a patch of bushland belonging to Kings School, and to Lake Parramatta. After circumnavigating this, we cross over to Darling Mills Creek, and work our way upstream, passing through the Northmead Dam once and the M2 twice.

    The Rockdale to Cronulla walk follows the Botany Bay shoreline to Captain Cook Bridge - from here we travel over the bridge to Taren Point where we then pick up the boardwalk (through the mangroves) then onto Wanda Beach to start our beach trek to Cronulla.  This walk is a mix of urban and beach with plenty of opportunities to stop along the way for refreshments!

    Starting in Botany Bay National Park and heading to the coast to spend some time at Cape Solander, one of Sydney's premier whale-watching spots, this walk then continues along the beach back to Cronulla via a short detour to Cape Bailey Lighthouse.

    Join me in yet another variation of this walk in the Berowra Valley National Park and thereabouts. It's station to station, and mostly on fire trails, bush tracks, and a street or two. There's also a tiny bit of easy off-track, and a creek to be crossed (easy if it's not been raining). We've done a few variations of this in the past. This one incorporates some new (for me) bits.

    Walk mainly on bush tracks with about 4km of suburban footpaths - lots of water views.  Cross sections of Garigal National Park, Manly Dam and Manly Lagoon, finishing the walk along the length of Manly Beach.  For those on public transport there is plenty of time at Manly Wharf for a refreshing 'recovery' before heading home.  If you need to return to collect your car at Seaforth Oval, we will aim to be at Manly in time for you to do so.
