Walks Program

Starting with a ferry ride from Circular Quay to Watsons Bay, this is a stunning walk exploring the southern harbour shores. Highlights include scenic harbour views and pleasant cafes and beaches along the way....and finally a gelato stop at Circular Quay! A joint walk with The Bush Club.

Afternoon walk from Lindfield Station to Killara (Station or Greengate Hotel), following Two Creeks, Barrie Street, Rocky Creek, Koola Park tracks via Middle Harbour. A mix of road, fire trail and bush tracks. Late start to finish with dinner at Greengate Hotel.   Alternatively, you can join Liam and Nick just for dinner.

When contacting Liam let him know if you joining for just the walk, the walk and dinner or just the dinner.

Young Will Shakespeare has a bad case of writer's block and desperately needs a muse. His new comedy isn't turning out and he's up against a tight deadline. Then he meets Viola de Lessops and a real-life romance starts to take hold. Cost: $26 per person (special rate). Please book and pay no later than Thursday 7th November. Firehouse Hotel, Walker Street North Sydney commencing at 12noon. Christmas Party for this year will be a lunch with a 'Mad Mexican' dress up theme!  Members to pay for own food with the Club to pay for a drink on arrival. Get into the spirit with your Mad Mexican outfit as there will be prizes for best dressed!  Bad Santa returns again with everyone to bring a gift to the value of $5 (wrapped). Numbers are capped at 30 so be early to register so you don't miss out on an afternoon of fun and frivolity!

This is a full event with a waiting list operating.  Catharina will be away from 17 Nov to 27 Nov so if you are interested contact her after 27 Nov to see if there are any vacancies. Catharina and those booked members will stay at Clancy Ski Lodge Smiggin Holes in the Snowy Mountains and will be going out on various day walks. Smiggin Holes is about 6 hours drive from Sydney. The Lodge has 11 bedrooms with a variety of single, double and bunk beds, all have ensuite bathrooms so there will be limited numbers depending on whether people are prepared to share rooms. The Lodge is well equipped with a large dining area and kitchen, a games room and laundry area. The kitchen has utensils, plates, pots, fridges and a microwave. There is no TV or Wifi. There are no shops or restaurants at Smiggin Holes so you have to supply your own food. You will need to pay for accommodation, provide your own food and your bedding. You will need to share the costs of car travel. Payment required by 30 November.

We will be meeting at Macquarie Uni Metro Station and walking through Christie Park and joining the Great North Walk.  We do have to cross the Lane Cove River via stepping stones. We then walk along the north side of Lane Cove River going underneath De Burghs Bridge and joining part of the Riverside Walk around to the south side of the Lane Cove River. We will be walking on well-marked bush tracks with a relaxed pace. After lunch we then walk up to Macquarie Park Metro Station via a bush track.

Join Lynn and Co Leader Denise on this morning walk. We will be meeting at St Leonards train station and walking to Artarmon train station via Flat Rock Gully and Tunks Park.  The walk is on well-marked bush tracks with 3 easy creek crossings and uneven rock steps in and out of Flat Rock Gully.  As it is mostly shady it will be a great summer walk.

Join Ed and Denise on this classic Sydney Harbour walk. We will walk around the headlands on well-marked bush tracks and paths from Balmoral around to Milsons Point. You can drop out on the way and make the walk a grade 2 and the pace will be relaxed.

Join newish Walk Leader Ann on this iconic Sydney Harbour Walk. We will meet at Wollstonecraft Station and walk to Waverton via Berry Island, the Coal Loader and Balls Head Reserve on well-marked bush tracks.

Join Ed and I on this classic coastal walk which is a great summer walk. We will be walking on a variety of paths with some street walking but finishing up at iconic Watsons Bay.

Join Ed and Denise on this classic walk in the Royal National Park (weather permitting). We will leave our cars at Garrawarra Farm and follow the track down to Burning Palms to Burning Palms Beach and then we will walk onto the Figure of Eight Pool.  We will be aiming to walk to the Pool in low tide as the Pool is on a rock shelf which is normally under water. Although there is a track to the Pool there may be slippery rocks but it will be worth it. We then retrace our steps to the beach and walk back to the cars via Burgh Ridge. Walking to the Figure of Eight Pool is optional and if you skip it, the walk will be a Grade 2.
