    It's the 21st anniversary of Henry Lawson Bush Poetry Reading and Music at Henry Lawson Cave, Willoughby, so if you're interested in an easy walk and some poetry and music for a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon, followed by dinner at a local restaurant nearby, this is the social event for you.     This relaxed walk involves beach walking, quiet village streets and easy bush tracks.

    After returning from Maianbar to Bundeena we head east, mainly along Jibbon Beach, to excellent aboriginal engravings at the point.

    All the day's activity is accessed by ferry across Port Hacking from near Cronulla station.

    Large sandy & sheltered beach with toilet/changing block. Paid or time limited parking in Bower Street or 1.5km walk from Manly ferry wharf.

    Starting from 11:00am, there are nearby cafés or BYO food & drink.

    NB  Snorkelling is a fine weather activity.  Cancellation will occur (and at relatively short notice) if there has been heavy rain the day before (visibility and/or health risks due to runoff) or if it's overcast/raining on the day or if there are strong winds/swells or excessively cold temperatures, for example.  If in doubt, check with me first.

    A mainly flat walk around three of the lakes and known as a site for excellent bird watching, with up to 140 species.

    The track is rough with many obstacles and occasional steps as it passes varied native plant species; both terrestrial and aquatic.

    A heritage pump station used to pump water for steam trains is also passed on our walk.

    After the walk we will visit the Rail Museum and from there a 45 minute steam train ride to Buxton and return.

    The cost of this is as follows:

    Adults $35 (museum only $15);

    Concession $25 (museum only $10)

    Join the Thursday Surveyors for an off-track exploratory adventure, usually in the Blue Mountains or Gardens of Stone areas. Location details to be anounced soon. Expect some navigational uncertainty, unexpected tricky terrain, and maybe a need for a bit of a head for heights. We don't usually take on anything too scary though. Early start for a car pool from Sydney.

    An urban walk that takes us from Milsons Point through the leafy streets of Waverton to Balls Head Reserve and the historic Coal Loader site and then back along the harbour to Milsons Point enjoying scenic views on the way. It's the last day of the North Sydney Art Prize on exhibition at the reserve so we'll also spend some time on our walk looking at the amazing artwork on display.

    The tenth annual Marathon Walk will be a harbourside and coastal one. We'll start early, finish quite late, and we'll be largely on paved footpaths, with some bush tracks. You don't need to be superfast or superfit, but you do need the endurance!
