    Enjoy spectacular harbour views on this classic walk. Starting at Watsons Bay ferry wharf, the walk includes South Head, The Gap, Vaucluse House grounds, Parsley Bay, Neilsen Park and the Hermitage Foreshore walk. Mixture of urban walking and bush tracks.

    We use two historic roads (Lawson's Long Alley & Lockyer's Road) to complete a circular walk from the Mount York plateau to Hartley Vale.

    These roads were constructed in 1822-23 and 1828-29 respectively.

    They provided access to the west from Sydney and are now only walking tracks.

    We may have time to visit the Comet Inn and the abandoned shale oil mine in the valley.

    Ever tried orienteering?  If not and you'd like to try a 1-hour mini version of it close to toilets and a cafe, without any bush bashing or muddy trails, this could be perfect for you.  No special clothing or equipment needed, just wear something comfortable and trainers.

    Due to the short nature of the course, after a de-brief, we will enjoy our packed lunches or adjoin to a nearby cafe depending on weather and interest of participants.

    There is an option to continue walking to Coogee after lunch.

    This beautiful walk takes you through one of the last stands of blue gum forest in the Blue Mountains.  We will take the track in reverse, heading along a fire trail until we hit the Blue Gums for a pleasant morning break.  We then head up Bees Nest Hill for our lunch spot with magnificant views over the Grose Valley.  We complete the circuit after the drop back into the valley and back to the start on White Cros Road. 

    The track start is a little complicated to get to and we will be best to take cars.  Meeting either at Strathfield or  Springwood train station.  

    As always, please advise if you have a car and will be driving so I can coordinate us all getting there.

    This classic walk, takes us around the Manly Dam, once the source of Sydney's water.  Great variety of tracks and bush, we should time it to see the bountiful spring flowers and usually plenty of birds, lizards etc.  

    The track is easy going, one or two little hills but given the short distance should be very manageable.  

    If you have never been on the track, its a great one to do.  

    Public transport options will be availabe by bus or there is easy free parking outside of the dam.

    Off the beaten track in the Marramarra National Park, Smugglers Ridge offers scenic views down into the Marramarra creek, a tributry of Berowra Creek.  

    First part of the walk is along a fire trail which is easy walking but does have a steep section at the end where we drop into the valley.  We will break for lunch at the campground before the climb back up along a pleasant bush track to the start. 

    No public transport so we will need to carpool. We will met at Pennant Hills Station and it is a 30 min drive from there.  Last part of the road is a little bumpy so prefer to have cars with good clearance. 

    As always, please provide your membership number, mobile and advise if you will be driving.
