    One of the most scenic and popular harbour walks and if you haven't experienced this walk then it is a must. We will meet at the Spit Junction around 10 - 10.15am (allowing travel time for members coming from the other side of the city).  The walk normally takes around 2-3 hours.  The plan is to have lunch when we get to Manly at the New Brighton Hotel located in the mall area near the beach.

    As per normal, wear comfortable walking shoes, bring plenty of water, sun hat, sun screen, snacks etc.

    This is a new walk that joins little used tracks with the Gibberagong & Kalkari tracks and crossing the M1 via 2 different tunnels!

    Starting and finishing at Asquith station, we will make our way to Bobbin Head. Some of the minor tracks may be a little overgrown and a couple of creek crossings may be a bit slippery. The little know or used Wallaby Pass from Frasers Brook can require a bit of scrambling.

    Details:

    From Mountain Lagoon we will follow Gospers Ridge Fire Trail to a point above the Colo where we will go off track to drop down into the River. From here it will be a 3klm walk up river to Tooties Creek, and then up the T3 track to complete the walk.

    The off track section may be rough and overgrown and may be steep in sections. Walking along the river may involve walking in the river where possible (ie not too deep) and some patches of quick sand may be encountered!

    NOTE CHANGE OF LEADER

    Ocean views, spectacular rock formations, unspoilt beaches and delightful detours.  The Kiama Coast Walk has it all - an unbroken ribbon of exploration stretching from Minnamurra through to Kiama through to Gerringong's Werri Beach.  This walk offers a mix of sealed paths, grassed tracks and beach walking plus stunning coastal views.

    The walk will start from Minnamurra Train Station and finish close to Gerringong Train Station (therefore no car pooling is required).  There are three sections to this walk taking approximately 6 hours to complete. 

    We will be departing from Central Station around 7.30am with estmated arrival into Minnamurra Station around 9.30am (this will be confirmed closer to the date).

    An adventurous walk, starting, (after walking 1km. beside the road,) and finishing on bush tracks, but mainly off-track, rock-hopping around Commodore Heights at the waterline. We will also check out the WW2 gun & searchlight emplacements below the West Head lookout.

    There will be an opportunity for a swim.

    Details:

    A beautiful middle harbour walk from Seaforth Oval, around Bantry Bay, Killarney Heights then over Roseville Bridge to reach the Two Creeks Track, finishing at Lindfield Oval, this walk is mostly on good bush tracks.  There is one steep descent and two steep climbs but otherwise the track is gently undulating.  This walk is best undertaken using public transport to reach the start (bus) and at the end (bus or train).  However I'm happy to put drivers in touch with one another if they want to make a private arrangement to drive back to the start after the walk.

    Join us for another scenic day trip from Sydney to the beautiful historic village of Wollombi (approx 1.5 hours drive north of Sydney).  We will explore the village and it's 16 places of historic interest followed by a relaxing lunch in the outdoor Garden Bar at the Myrtle Cafe overlooking the scenic vistas of Wollombi.

    Car pooling is required with approximate cost between $15 and $20.  We will aim to arrive at the village around 11am with lunch booked at the cafe for around 12.30pm. 

    This is a social day out with a relaxing stroll around the village for all fitness levels!

    Enjoy great views from the cliff walk & the lookout above the Three Sisters.

    We then descend the very steep Giant Stairway beside the sisters, and then into the bush, taking Dardanelles Pass to the Leura Forest.

    The Federal Pass is then followed towards the base of the Scenic Railway, but we ascend before then via Furbers Steps to complete the circuit.

    Note: the Giant Stairway is not suitable for descending with walking poles as the steps are narrow & steep.

    A good old fashioned gentle but longish leg stretch within the Brisbane Waters National Park. Nice scenery, all on tracks and fire trails. Mt Wondabyne is a fine little pointy peak, Rocky Ponds are what they sound like, and the Hawkesbury view is an excellent lunch spot overlooking Dangar Island and Brooklyn. Car pool from Hornsby to the Woy Woy Road.

    From Manly we will leave the beaten tracks at Shelley Beach and follow the shore line under the cliffs to Blue Fish Point. From there it's up to North Head and then a small section of bush track to Quarantine Head. Depending on tide we may follow the shore line from Quarantine Station to Collins Beach.

    The shore line section from Shelley Beach to Blue Fish Point will involve a lot of rock scrambling and sure footing is essential. The walk is timed for low tide as one section is impassable if the tide is in.

    Details:

    The Flying Carpet is one of the 'must do' iconic destinations in the Gardens of Stone area. It's up towards the end of the Glowworm Tunnel Road, and it's an amazing rock platform seemingly stuck out in thin air, half way down a spectacular cliff face, overlooking Carne Creek. We'll be entirely off-track, and there's scrub-bashing and rock-scrambling. You'll need a head for heights.     I’ve booked to go on this 6-day guided walk and would love some familiar faces to join me. It’s one of the classic Australian bushwalks, through the heart of Tasmania’s World Heritage wilderness, from Cradle Mountain to Lake St Clair. It winds through dolerite mountains, alpine buttongrass plains, and temperate rainforest and takes in some of Tasmania’s most iconic scenery. Accommodation is in tents and three meals a day are supplied.

    Narrow inlet with small beach but plenty of rock ledges to bask on.  Some exposure to southerly swells. Parking in Victory Street and Clovelly SLC carpark. Bring food and drink or purchase from CLSC kiosk. Starting from 11:00am onwards.

    NB  Snorkelling is a fine weather activity.  Cancellation will occur (and at relatively short notice) if there has been heavy rain the day before (visibility and/or health risks due to runoff) or if it's overcast/raining on the day or if there are strong winds/swells or excessively cold temperatures, for example.  If in doubt, check with me first.
