    Details:

    This walk provides a fresh perspective of the Blue Mountains National Park viewed from the southern end overlooking the Nepean River. Quiet fire trails make for easy walking as there are no steps or steep climbs only a gradual descent and ascent for most of the way. We will be exploring the various lookouts including The Rock, Rileys Mountain and Nepean Narrows. This walk starts and finishes at Mulgoa.  Own transport will be required for this activity.     Details:

    From Brooklyn we will take a water taxi to Gunyah Beach. Then head up hill off track to Gunyah Hill. From here we’ll traverse the ridge (bush bash) taking us to Cliff Trig and then onwards to Taffy’s Rock. It is then a bush track walk back to Jerusalem Bay and to our finish at Cowan Station. The section from Gunyah Beach to Taffy’s Rock is unsurveyed and depending on undergrowth etc may be slow going. This will be an all day outing and will require a payment of $15 – $20 for the water taxi, depending on final numbers. Payment will need to be made in advance to confirm your spot. The walk will be weather dependant and there will be swimming opportunities at Gunyah Beach and Jerusalem Bay. Joint walk with The Bush Club.

    Join Ed and Denise on this circuit walk around Lower Blue Mountain creeks.

    The walk is on well marked bush tracks following a number of creeks.  You will need some experience in walking along creeks but this walk is a good introduction to grade 3 walks.   The pace of the walk will be relaxed.

    Details:

    Strickland State Forest (located at Somersby on the Central Coast) is a special place and a living exhibition of exceptionally diverse forest habitats including wildflowers and dry heath woodland in the north to tall eucalypts on its slopes through to lush rainforest in the south. The Forest has extensive easy walking tracks through varying forest types; past waterfalls, under cabbage tree palms and along creeks. We will be exploring 6 different walking trails and tracks each unique to itself which includes the Strickland Falls Trail, Cabbage Tree Trail, Stoney Creek Trail, Ridge To Rainforest Track, Bellbird Trail and the Arboretum Trail. This activity will be followed by a short drive to Mount Penang Gardens for afternoon. Your own transport will be required for this activity.     Starting from Lane Cove we will follow the river bush corridors of Tambourine Bay Park, Warraroon Reserve through to Gore Creek Reserve followed by a short urban street walk through Greenwich to the start of the Gore Cove Reserve then onto Berry Island and Oyster Cove Reserve. It is then an easy urban stroll through Waverton and McMahons Point finishing at Wendy Whiteley’s Secret Garden at Lavendar Bay. For those interested there will be a ‘recovery drink’ at the Kirribilli Club overlooking the harbour. When registering please include your member number and mobile.

    Join Ed (and no doubt Denise) on this classic bushwalk through Ku ring gai National Park.  We will be walking the Sphinx Track down to Bobbin Head following Cowan Creek.  After lunch we will then return via Cockle Creek (although Denise will probably return via Bobbin Head Track). The pace will be relaxed.
