Descents (m): 200Car pooling is not required for this activity.Details:The walk will start at the Monday Morning Cafe opposite Thornleigh Train Station on the west side of the railway line. Meet Julie and John at the cafe at 9am for a 9:30am start. There will be a short urban street walk to join the Great North Walk. We will then follow the GNW around the back of the suburb of Westleigh following the track through Berowra Valley Regional Park. We will traverse the Blue Gum Forest as we make our way toward The Fishponds and eventually emerging at the bottom of the Hornsby Heritage Steps at the Rosemead Rd Park. We will then ascend the Hornsby Heritage Steps (over 300) to access the back streets of Hornsby. It is then just a short walk to Hornsby Train Station. Please note there will be some rocky locations which will require rock climbing up and down. Most of the trail will be undulating.

Descents (m): 293Car pooling is not required for this activity.Details:After a short urban walk we descend (193 metres) to the excellent swimming hole at Kangaroo Creek via Bottle Forest Trail and Engadine Track. A little bit of effort is now required to ascend (100 metres) metal stairs to the Robertson's Roundabout Track and then down to the Hacking River. We are now into the picnic grounds of Audley which we traverse to cross the Audley Weir. It is then a delightful and easy graded Honeymoon Track ascent (108 metres) to the National Park Station. We can catch an historic tram from here to Loftus Station, or walk 3km on a fire trail beside the line. The cost of the tram is $6 Adult or $4 Concession.

It is a full backpack bushwalk although you will not be camping as you will be staying in heritage huts each night. You need experience in full backpack bushwalking and have experience in carrying your gear on overnight full backpack bushwalks. This includes the ability to carry your food. The walk will be occasionally challenging with a 900 descent on day 2 and walk along the creek on day 3 and a 600 m ascent on day 4. We will be meeting with a Park Ranger at 10am at the Muogamarra Visitors Centre. We have booked the Lloyd Trig Deerubbin Walk guided tour which takes about 3 to 4 hours but afterwards we will be able to wander around the Visitor Centre and the Nature Reserve. Cost Adult $35 and Concession $30 to be paid on the day. Bring snacks, lunch, water and wear suitable clothing for the weather on the day. When booking let the Walk Leader (Anna) know if you require a lift or can provide a lift as the Nature Reserve is not near public transport.
