    This walk will start at Rose Bay ferry terminal.  After a pleasant harbour cruise, we will stroll through Rose Bay Village before reaching the Hermitage Foreshore Walk.  Our aim is to wander in and around some of the historic buildings in the area – Strickland House, Greycliffe House and stopping for a tea break on Mt Trefle.  Next over to Vaucluse House to wander the grounds there.  After a bit of road walking, we will head down through Parsley Bay and finally make our way to Watson’s Bay to Hornby Lighthouse and finally finish with optional fish and chips in the park.  This will be a leisurely walk, mostly pavement so hiking gear is not essential.  Catch the ferry or bus back from Watson Bay.

    Scheyville National Park is 954 hectares in size and protects a large remaining portion of the Cumberland Plain woodland (it is situated near Pitt Town).  We will be adventuring on a course of 4 exploratory easy walking trails including the Old Dairy Loop Walk, the New Dairy Loop Walk, the Farm Walk Loop and the Lake Walk .  This is a beautiful part of the world and worth exploring if you haven’t already done so.  Meeting first at the Vintage Pantry in Pitt Town for morning tea then it is a short drive into the National Park to start our walks.  Lunch will be at one of the many pretty picnic areas located in the nearby Migrant Camp Precinct.  Your own transport will be required for this activity.  When registering please include your membership number and mobile phone number.

    Details:

    One for the gardening enthusiasts and lovers of plants and flowers! The Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan is a 416-hectare (1,028-acre) botanic garden located in a hilly area of the south-western Sydney suburb of Mount Annan, between Campbelltown and Camden. The Garden consists of 30ha of cultivated displays in a native bushland setting, has a range of picnic areas and a range of walking tracks which we will be exploring including the Woodland Walk and Central Valley Walk all on easy paved walk ways.     Details:

    Starting with a steep climb from Wondabyne Train Station we will explore a series of large rock platforms with wide views over the Brisbane Water National Park and Scopas Peak. After Scopas Peak we cross a few pleasant rocky gullies before crossing Piles Creek on the Phil Houghton Suspension Foot Bridge. Here the walk heads towards Mooney Mooney Creek before walking up to the Mooney Mooney Creek Track Head on the Old Pacific Highway to the dirt car park.     Details:

    This section of the GNW takes us along dirt roads and trails alongside the wide Mooney Mooney Creek, and then under the M1 Mooney Mooney Bridge. The wide track continues upstream, passing a few campsites before crossing the wide creek at a pleasant large rock platform. Not too long after crossing the creek we will pass the lower Mooney Mooney Dam where the old trail leads you uphill past another campsite, a quarry to the Somersby Reservoir. The track then leads past some rural properties and across the delightful Robinson Creek among the Gymea Lilies before finishing with a section of road walking to the Somersby Store. Car pooling and a car shuffle will be required for this activity.  When registering please provide your member number and mobile.
