    A selection of Upper Blue Mountains highlights, near Mount Victoria and Blackheath, involving two separate bits. Odin Head and Burramoko Head provide spectacular views over the Grose Valley, and Hanging Rock is the most spectacular of all. The walk out to Hanging Rock is a bit unspectacular, but once there, you get to leap over the scary gap and perch yourself in thin air with little below. Not for the faint hearted. Check out some Youtube videos of the place before booking if you're unsure! The historic mine is the Blair Athol mine, which we'll check out on the way to Odin Head. Car pool from Sydney area.

    Humble To Handsome will showcase the history of Balmain and its architecture from the 1840's to the 1860's.  This will be an interesting walk as we weave our way around the quaint streets of Balmain taking in over 21 points of interest.  We will also wander up to Ballast Point Park located on the Balmain Peninsula which offers stunning views of the harbour.  The walk will start from the East Balmain Ferry Wharf.

    The 'Street Photography 1930 - 1950's' exhibition showcases the mid-20th century commercial street photographers who were a familiar sight on Sydney's streets capturing everyday people as they strode by or stopped to pose.  Taken against the vibrant background of the city streets, these photographs captured candid moments in the lives of millions of people from uniformed servicemen and women to post-war migrants exploring their new city and young couples out for day on the town.

    This extraordinary exhibition and largely unseen record of Sydney and its people, draws together photos from hundreds of private family albums and is a must to see.

    The 5 Lands Walk is an annual walk from MacMasters Beach to Terrigal along the  sand and over headlands. We start at Palm Beach, catching ferry to Ettalong with a bus shuttle taking us to start of walk and returning us to Ettalong after the walk for the ferry back to Palm Beach. We will be stopping regularly to take in the various activities (artworks, performances and maybe whale spotting).

    This history walk starts with a ferry ride from Woy Woy to Davistown where we pick up the Illoura Reserve Walk (which takes us along the Brisbane River). Davistown was famous for its shipbuilding from 1863 to 1904 but by the 1920s it become popular for holidays, horse racing and the famous Restella Guest House.This journey will take us right back to early settlement when Governor Arthur Phillip first sailed into these waters in 1788.The walk will finish with lunch at the Davistown RSL followed by a ferry ride back to Woy Woy.

    This classic walk, takes us around the Manly Dam, once the source of Sydney's water.  Great variety of tracks and bush, we should time it to see the bountiful spring flowers and usually plenty of birds, lizards etc.  

    The track is easy going, one or two little hills but given the short distance should be very manageable.  

    If you have never been on the track, its a great one to do.  

    Public transport options will be availabe by bus or there is easy free parking outside of the dam.

    This walk will commence after 7pm and will finish the in the early hours of the morning.

    We will follow the Smuglers Ridge bush track to Marramarra Creek and then return on the fire trail. As we will be walking in the dark, a head torch will be required. However as the moon will be quite bright we will try to walk as much as possible without using torches.

    We will have supper at Marramarra creek and hopefully light a camp fire, where people can toast marshmallows and partake in a tipple of choice. Bring your own supper and tipple!

    Car pooling will be organised to and from the start.

    Off the beaten track in the Marramarra National Park, Smugglers Ridge offers scenic views down into the Marramarra creek, a tributry of Berowra Creek.  

    First part of the walk is along a fire trail which is easy walking but does have a steep section at the end where we drop into the valley.  We will break for lunch at the campground before the climb back up along a pleasant bush track to the start. 

    No public transport so we will need to carpool. We will met at Pennant Hills Station and it is a 30 min drive from there.  Last part of the road is a little bumpy so prefer to have cars with good clearance.

    The Bob Turner track affords easy access to the Colo River on a  well maintained track. From the Colo though we will follow the river upstream to Mailes cave. This section is all off track, but will have sections of foot pads along the way.

    This will be a good opertunity to experience the Colo River gorge as well as some interesting rock hopping and bush scrambling.

    I’ve booked to go on this 6-day guided walk and would love some familiar faces to join me. It’s one of the classic Australian bushwalks, through the heart of Tasmania’s World Heritage wilderness, from Cradle Mountain to Lake St Clair. It winds through dolerite mountains, alpine buttongrass plains, and temperate rainforest and takes in some of Tasmania’s most iconic scenery. Accommodation is in tents and three meals a day are supplied.
