    Enjoy great views from the cliff walk & the lookout above the Three Sisters.

    We then descend the very steep Giant Stairway beside the sisters, and then into the bush, taking Dardanelles Pass to the Leura Forest.

    The Federal Pass is then followed towards the base of the Scenic Railway, but we ascend before then via Furbers Steps to complete the circuit.

    Note: the Giant Stairway is not suitable for descending with walking poles as the steps are narrow & steep.

    Details:

    A good old fashioned gentle but longish leg stretch within the Brisbane Waters National Park. Nice scenery, all on tracks and fire trails. Mt Wondabyne is a fine little pointy peak, Rocky Ponds are what they sound like, and the Hawkesbury view is an excellent lunch spot overlooking Dangar Island and Brooklyn. Car pool from Hornsby to the Woy Woy Road.

    Sheltered beach with netted swimming area. There are grassy banks & a toilet/changing block Free & non-limited parking in New Street from where you walk down steps to beach About 2km walk from Manly ferry wharf.

    Details:

    From Manly we will leave the beaten tracks at Shelley Beach and follow the shore line under the cliffs to Blue Fish Point. From there it's up to North Head and then a small section of bush track to Quarantine Head. Depending on tide we may follow the shore line from Quarantine Station to Collins Beach.

    The shore line section from Shelley Beach to Blue Fish Point will involve a lot of rock scrambling and sure footing is essential. The walk is timed for low tide as one section is impassable if the tide is in.

    A classic Sydney bushwalk and a favourite of the club for many years.

    Enjoy Middle Harbour views from the bush and urban streets, an opportunity for a swim, and a recovery at a Manly pub or cafe before the ferry to Circular Quay.

    Along the way we take a side trip to explore the 1930's depressiom era cottages at Crater Cove.

    Details:

    The Flying Carpet is one of the 'must do' iconic destinations in the Gardens of Stone area. It's up towards the end of the Glowworm Tunnel Road, and it's an amazing rock platform seemingly stuck out in thin air, half way down a spectacular cliff face, overlooking Carne Creek. We'll be entirely off-track, and there's scrub-bashing and rock-scrambling. You'll need a head for heights.     2019 CHRISTMAS in the Snowy’s.

    Accommodation in Ski Lodge – Smiggins Hole – Snowy Mountains – December 2019

    When: In,  21 December – checking out on morning of 26th of December

    Where:   Close to Perisher, a ski resort area of the Snowy Mountains.

    Clancy lodge is located at Smiggins Hole. It is approx. 7 hours to drive from  Sydney.

    There are lots of walks to do each day. You can arrange your own activities or walking or just stay in the lodge.

    It takes approx 60 minutes to drive to Thredbo if you want to take the cable car or explore around Thredbo.

    It takes approx. 30minutes drive from the Lodge to Jindabyne to do local shopping.

    The lodge is very comfortable with 12 bedrooms with single and bunk beds. Each room has its own bathroom, bedding (bring your own sheets), cupboards and heating.

    The  kitchen has a great dining area with  stoves, fridges, pots, pans, cutlery, just bring your own food. There is also a games room with pool table, fire place, coffee machine, books and games.

    The lodge also has a laundry with washing machine and dryer. Let me know if you are interested by 20 November. Cost per night per person is  $50 (if you are sharing a room).

    If you want a room by yourself and not share you need to pay $70 per person,  per night.

    Expressions of interest please by 20 November as we must have 10-12 people to get the ski lodge.

    I’ve booked to go on this 6-day guided walk and would love some familiar faces to join me. It’s one of the classic Australian bushwalks, through the heart of Tasmania’s World Heritage wilderness, from Cradle Mountain to Lake St Clair. It winds through dolerite mountains, alpine buttongrass plains, and temperate rainforest and takes in some of Tasmania’s most iconic scenery. Accommodation is in tents and three meals a day are supplied.
