Rogaining is the skill of finding your way as part of a team across a course using just a map and a compass to locate marked controls, each of which has a points value, the aim being to amass as many points as you can within the designated timeframe (6 hours in this case). Think of it as a Treasure Hunt for bushwalkers.
This rogaine will be held somewhere in or around Canberra's metropolitan area - actual location is not divulged until after entries are finalised. However, the course is likely to be easier to negotiate than a bush rogaine, probably involving some suburbia. You should probably think of overnighting in Canberra on Saturday, returning to Sydney on Sunday after the rogaine. Depending on the level of interest, I can co-ordinate car pooling for participants.
