Let's start at the very beginning....Explore the very first section of the Great North Walk from Circular Quay to North Ryde station. We take the ferry from Circular Quay to Woolwich, then walk on the harbour foreshore through Hunters Hill to Boronia Park and on to North Ryde via the Lane Cove National Park and river.

This an ‘easier’ grade 4. Mixture of urban walking and bush tracks. No major ascents and descents. All accessible by public transport. There are several ‘bail out’ options if you do not wish to do the full walk but pace will be moderate.

Meet at the Obelisk in Macquarie Place, corner of Bridge and Loftus Streets, Sydney at 8.45am for 9.10am ferry to Woolwich. Option to join at the Woolwich Ferry wharf at 9.30am (ferry arrives 9.34am)
