Check with the Walk Leader as to the cost of the car pool. We start with a coffee at a cafe near the wharf before boarding the ferry which circles Scotland Island on Pittwater. The walk starts on a fire trail, past the houses of Elvina Bay to an historic grave and onto the base of a waterfall. A bush track is then followed to a creek crossing; care is needed here on slippery rocks. We then ascend to Birnie Lookout with its extensive views over Pittwater. The descent to Hall's Wharf is via a bush track, over some swampy ground to a fire trail and a bush track around the youth hostel and finally fire trails. The cost of the ferry is Adult $17 and Concession $11. EFTPOS or cash accepted.
