Peak Hill from Brooklyn - Tuesday 18 May 2021
Tuesday 18 May 2021. A perfect bushwalking day and one of the Sydney area's most perfect little bushwalks. From Brooklyn we went up to admire some of the extensive collection of indigenous rock carvings just off the fire trail towards the Brooklyn dam. Then back a bit, and up onto Porto Ridge for fine views of the Hawkesbury. On then, via a lesser-known group of hand stencils in a rock overhang. And then to Peak Hill's pointy summit for lunch, with fine views out to West Head and the Barrenjoey lighthouse. The return journey was enlivened by a small misadventure involving a lost track and a temporarily very lost mobile phone. Both were found again, and all was well!
