Vale of Avoca to Grose River - 25 April 2021
An interesting 7km walk in the Grose Valley led by Liam Heery, it might have been short in distance but it was full of adventure. After visiting the Vale of Avoca lookout for a view of the Grose Valley, we had a steep descent down to the Grose River for the first of two river crossings. This was not going to be a dry crossing, as promised in the walk joining instructions. There was plenty of evidence of the recent floods all around on the upper banks of the river. After a leisurely lunch, we followed the Engineer's track along the Grose River, where we came across a Death Adder on the track, the whole of the Blue Mountains was alerted to this fact by Molly. Shortly afterwards we came to the second river crossing, no difficult rocks this time, Nick - lookout for the quicksand whilst crossing the river. We then made our way via fire trail back to the car. Another excellent walk led by Liam Heery.
