Davistown Illoura Reserve History Walk - Central Coast
Davistown was famous for shipbuilding between 1863 and 1904. We arrive by ferry (from Woy Woy) to Veterans Hall Davistown where we meet up with the Illoura Reserve History Walk which showcases the history of the shipbuilding plus the many ferry services that ran from 1905. By the 1920's Davistown had become popular for holidaying, horse racing and the famous Restella Guest House. The history walk takes us right back to early settlement when Governor Phillip first sailed into these waters in 1788. Lunch will be at the Davistown RSL - Broadwater Cafe. The ferry departs Woy Woy Wharf at 10.45am so arrival to Woy Woy Station must be no later than 10.15am. Please note that the ferry takes cash only - return fares $16.60/concession $8.40. When registering please remember to provide your member number and mobile number. Further details will be provided closer to the day.
