The walk is a short distance from Gosford railway station on urban streets, then a mixture of bush tracks and fire trails. Rhumbalara Reserve has larger than life bronze sculptures of early explorers such as John Eyre. We will see a variety of trees, from Sydney Blue Gums, Blackbutt, Smooth-Barked Apple, Ironbark and Rainforest types, including Strangler Figs. If we are lucky, the Green Catbird may call, or be seen in the rainforest at Seymour Pond. Other birds throughout the reserves are Kookaburras, Rainbow Lorikeets, Eastern Rosellas, Black Cockatoos and Magpies.
