This is one for the history buffs and for those wanting to explore this interesting Sydney Harbour Island. We will meet at the Cockatoo Island Wharf around 10.30am.  From there we will wander over to the Societe Overboard Cafe for morning tea (feel free to bring your own) and peruse the guide map to decide on the best route to take to explore the island.

At 12noon we will head to Fitzroy Dock to travel back in time where steam ruled for the Mort's Dock Steam Crane Demonstration (which is free!).  To learn more about the historic Steam Crane go to the Cockatoo Island website.  Following the demonstration we will head over to the Marina Cafe & Bar for lunch (once again feel free to bring your own).  The cafe is licensed so for those inclined we can have a glass of bubbles, wine or beer!  The cafe is right on the water so a very pleasant outlook whilst enjoying lunch.

We will then spend the rest of the afternoon exploring the rich history of the island whilst having fun along the way.  We can check out the 'glamping' tents and indulge ourselves in a 'giant' game of chess!  There is lots to see and do so a great way to spend a Saturday!

For those travelling back to Darling Harbour there will always be time for a 'recovery' drink at one of the many waterfront bars.
