Day Trip To Berrima Southern Highlands
Historic walk around Berrima taking in 31 historical sites of interest plus a side track to explore the River Walk which was the location of a German Intern Camp during World War 1. Berrima (located in the beautiful Southern Highlands) is widely recognised today as the best preserved example of a Georgian Village on the Australian mainland. It was established in the 1830's during a time of great exploration and expansion in NSW.
You will experience the quiet charm and romance that comes from those features of the village which remained frozen in time which now so wonderfully portray those earlier times.
Meeting at 10.30am at the 'Bread & Bowls Cafe' No 1 Market Place Berrima - we will start with a refreshing morning tea and then around 11am we will start our historic walk finishing around 1.30pm with the lunch at The Surveyor General Inn. You are welcome to bring your own morning tea and lunch.
Following lunch you will have the opportunity to explore the village with its antique and art galleries, craft shops, gift shops, clothing stores and specialist retailers.
Berrima is approximately a 1.5 hour drive from Sydney and as there is no public transport to Berrima we will be relying on carpooling.
