Hanging Rock

The Thursday Surveyors made a pilgrimage to the iconic Hanging Rock, which overlooks the Grose Valley near Balzer Lookout, north of Blackheath. There's a few kilometres of firetrail walking to deter some of the thrill seekers who do rather scary things out there sometimes (involving high wires and base jumps), and who sometimes come to grief.

We weren't deterred though, and a good 50% of the party of six summoned up the courage to step across the gap onto the rock itself.

A magnificent place!
