Rogaining is the skill of navigating as part of a team across a course using just a map and a compass to locate marked controls, each of which has a points value, the aim being to amass as many points as you can within the designated timeframe (6 hours in this case).  Think of it as a Treasure Hunt for bushwalkers. 

This rogaine is a regular one that will be located somewhere around (but not in) Lake Macquarie.  As for all rogaines, the actual location and starting point is not divulged until after entries have been received.  This particular rogaine takes place on a Saturday, usually starting at noon and finishing at 6:00pm  A car camp on Saturday night, returning to Sydney on Sunday morning, is an option to consider when booking.
