The walkfrom Mt Hay Road to the Blue Gum Forest via Lockley Pylon is my favourite walk in the Blue Mountains.  The views on the walk out to Lockley Pylon are breathtaking.  We will probably have morning tea on the top of Lockley Pylon before walking to Du Faur Buttress befre descending to the Blue Gum forest (650 descent).  The forest consists predominantly of towering Mountain blue gum trees, with an understory of shrubs.  A mountain blue gum tree can grow to measuring 65 metres high with a trunk 6 metres in circumference.
