This is a public event run by the NSW Rogaining Association. It provides an easy introduction into the sport of Rogaining - a blend of orienteering, bush walking and a treasure hunt. (http://nswrogaining.org/AboutRogaining/WhatsRogaining.htm)

This one is only 3 HOURS duration, and set in the inner west of Sydney. Your team members (usally 2 - 5 per team) are given a detailed map of the area, on which are  marked checkpoints with differing points value . The aim is to return to the starting point within the 3 hours with the highest number of points. Points are lost for every minute late. The skill required is to set your course based on your walking/running ability to acheive maximum points. It is a great way to practice basic navigation and observation skills. It also gives you a great opportunity to traverse the chosen suburbs. Several hundred participants are expected, across a wide range of abilities.

There is a fee to enter, which covers costs and the food provided after the event.

I will assist any newcomers, but will need expressions of interest by 20th March with registration soon after that.
