Enjoy spectacular views to the coast and unusual rock formations as well as the unique flora that make up Barren Grounds NP. There is one steepish ascent/descent of around 200m or so, otherwise it is mostly flat with undulations. The majority of the walk (around 20km) is on firetrail so the distance will be covered more easily than you might think.
Bring plenty of water if the day is sunny and warm as there is unlikely to be much if any on the plateau. Also bring hat and sunscreen as tree cover is sparse.
Meet 7:45am at Flora Cafe in Sutherland (near railway station) for car pool (about 1.5 hour drive one way is involved). Bookings essential. Make allowance for a recovery meal stop in Berry on the way back.
