Vertigo Slot – Gardens of Stone National Park

G2 and G3 

This walk will be different from a standard walk as the main point of the walk is to see the wonderful natural sculptures that are so easily accessible just off the firetrial. Once we reach the pagodas you will be free to explore and discover at your leisure. As such, the walk is equally suitable for those who enjoy G2 and G3  walks, or even G4 walks depending on how inquisitive you are. Nick Collins and I will be around to watch out for folk. 

The only criteria for joining the walk is to be able to walk the 4.1km there and back on a rather rough and undulating fire-trial, and also to be steady on your feet so that you can climb and explore the pagodas. To get the full impact of the beauty of this area you would need to be comfortable with  some scrambling and climbing, but that will depend on how much exploring you want to do. It's also a nice place just to have a picnic.

The fire-trial itself isn't very exciting ... it's really only a means to an end, the end being the pagodas.

Be sure to bring your camera ... there will be plenty of photo opportunities.
