Meet at Gerringong Railway Station 7.30am Saturday.  Three options:

  1. A weekend away, staying in Kiama Friday and Saturday night, is recommended!  Join the walk by catching the train from Kiama to Gerringong, 7.46am arriving just before 8am.
  2. Camp or motel overnight Saturday only in Kiama, exploring Kiama and surrounds on Sunday. 5am start at Central Station if travelling to Gerringong that day (nearly 3 hours, meeting the group at 8am). Catch the train from Mirramurra to Kiama at the end of the walk (20 minute journey).
  3. Day trip only, catch the 5am train from Central and return to Sydney and return that night from Mirramurra by catching the 5.12pm train, arriving Central Station 7.18pm.

From the Gerringong railway station, we will head to the whale-watching platform at Werri Beach and begin our walk up the coast, along Werri Beach and past Werri Lagoon (2.5 kilometres). We then walk the six kilometre stretch along cliff tops with ocean views takes to Kiama Heights, and this takes about two hours to complete. Markers featured every kilometre explain the fascinating history and geology of the area.

The second section from Kiama Heights to Blowhole Point is a 90-minute walk through waterfront reserves - Loves Bay, Easts Beach, Kendalls Beach, Surf Beach , and Storm Bay - connected by headlands, taking a break at the Little Blowhole midway along this route.

The final section of the walk is from Blowhole Point to Minnamurra and takes about three hours. We will take in Kiama Harbour, Bombo Beach, Jones Beach and Cathedral Rocks taking in the Kiama Lighthouse and Blowhole Point. We will visit the Boneyard, Bombo Quarry and Spring Creek Wetlands on our journey. As well as walking, we'll be able to swim or snorkel at various spots along the way.
