Exploratory walk in an unsurveyed (to the participants) location, usually determined much closer to the date. May include offtrack components, backtracking, meandering, undulations, steep bits, even some 4WD action on occasion. An early start from Sydney (normally 7:30am) is customary to avoid peak hour commuter traffic.
