Well sadly we didn't manage to finish our 25k circuit walk!  The big black clouds that were looming turned into a massive thunderstorm and downpour!  Taking shelter in the old barn located next to the historic Fairview Homestead we then made an 'executive' decision to trek onto the junction of the Simpson Track turn off and then make another 'executive' decision to either continue on or to turn back - well as it happened the Simpson Track junction was now a creek and with the rain continuing we decided to trek back to the cars.  Overall we ended up doing around 16ks so not a bad effort.  We then finished with a well deserved coffee and sweet treat at the local Mangrove Mountain cafe as we sat and watched the deluge of rain continue!  Thanks to my fellow bushwalkers who braved the elements for what ended up being a very enjoyable and fun day out!
