ANB Committee meeting highlights 15th January 2019

-  urgent need for a new Newsletter Editor to enable it to continue.
-  Club consitution to be reviewed by committee in light of new legislation.
-  end of annonymous contacts emails for booking onto activities.  To revert to use of leaders own email.
-  Club to start process of changing banks to facilitate electronic payments.
-  2019 AGM and Christmas party venues to be booked.

Happy New Year 2019 - new programme

Happy New Year 2019 to all our members and their families.

Thanks to all the activity leaders who have already contributed items to this quarter's programme.  A quick glance today shows Len leading the way with six activities!  However, all contributors to the programme are to be congratulated on the variety of walks and social events that they have planned.

Nevertheless I would call on all past walk leaders to think about adding an item this quarter as the programme does have three weekends where there are NO walks.

ANB Christmas Party 2018 - Thanks

Thanks to everyone that contributed to making this a great party, especially (in alphabetical order) Catharina, Connie, Diane and Steve who organised the food and set up the venue, as well as Charles who provided the Christmas themed music and drew the door prizes.

Approximately 45 people attended including new and long-standing members, young and not so young, regular and not so regular walkers, in short a great cross-section of our membership.  I think it would be fair to say that a good time was had by all.

ANB representative for next Bushwalking NSW meeting

This is a request for someone to represent the club at the next Bushwalking NSW meeting to be held at Redfern Town Hall at 7pm on Tuesday 20th November.

I'm unavailable that evening and would be grateful if someone could go in my place and report back on anything of interest to the club that transpires.

If you are interested please email club@anbwalkers.org.au

thank you in advance

ANB Committee meeting highlights 23rd October

The following were the highlights from the ANB Committee meeting held on Tuesday 23rd October:

- futher discussion of club Christmas party arrangements for 1st December

- decision to continue to send a club representative to the quarterly Bushwalking NSW meetings where possible

- decision to support the review by Bushwalking NSW of the cap on the membership fees placed upon the larger clubs

Christmas Party update

We have already had one member volunteer to help organise the club Christmas Party on December 1st.  This is very much appreciated.  However it would be good to have another couple of people to help her out.

It could involve as little as calling the picnic site in advance of the party to ensure we have access to toilets or it could involve as much as ordering and collecting the salads. Whatever you can offer in the way of assistance, the club will be very grateful.

Christmas Party organisation Dec 1st 2018

The committee is seeking help to organise the All Nations Bushwalkers annual party that is already booked to be held in Rhodes from 4pm on Saturday 1st December.  Four people would probably be sufficient.

Please contact one of the committee or email club@anbwalkers.org.au if you are planning on coming to the party and think you could help .  The committee has agreed on a budget for you to buy salads and rolls plus any additional party items that you might think appropriate.

All Nations Bushwalkers representative to Bushwalking NSW AGM

A big thank you to Paul Monaghan who volunteered to be the All Nations Bushwalkers representative at the recent Bushwalking NSW AGM, for which he has already provided a report to this news feed.

Committee Meeting 31st July

This was the first meeting of the new committee with the highlights being:

  • Thanks and welcome to new committee members
  • Helen will be the ANB delegate for the Bushwalking NSW AGM due to no other volunteers coming forward
  • The members will be asked to assist with the organisation of the Christmas party this year rather than the committee being solely responsible

For full details of what took place at the committee meeting, once the minutes are available they will be uploaded to the website and a link circulated.
